Zaid Al-Abbasi serves as an Instructor at the University of Maine, teaching a biochemistry course focused on G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Currently a PhD student at the University of New England, Zaid is conducting research on the signatures of Acute to Chronic Pain Transition in Dr. Molliver’s Lab. Previous experience includes positions as a Visiting Scientist and Graduate Student at the Maine Medical Center Research Institute, as well as roles as an Adjunct Professor and research assistant in various educational institutions. Zaid holds a Master's degree in Biochemistry from Tikrit University, a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Samarra, and is pursuing an Associate's degree in English at Southern Maine Community College.
