Clayton Holtzman

Vice President, Communications & Public Affairs at MaineHealth

Clayton Holtzman has extensive experience in communications and public affairs. Clayton started their career as a Staff Writer for Albuquerque Business First and then worked as a Staff Writer for Puget Sound Business Journal. Clayton later joined the Western Washington Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists as a Volunteer Board Member, eventually becoming its President. After that, Clayton served as a Web Content Strategist for Fred Hutch and as a Media Relations Manager for Swedish Medical Center.

In 2014, Clayton became the Director of Population Health Communications for Providence Health & Services, where they developed and executed communication strategies for population health and accountable care operations. Clayton then joined Maine Medical Center as the Director of Communications & Public Affairs before being promoted to the Senior Director role.

Currently, Clayton is the Vice President of Communications & Public Affairs at MaineHealth. In this role, they support the mission and vision of MaineHealth, Maine Medical Center, and Southern Maine Health Care through strategic and integrated communication initiatives. Clayton is also an Advisory Board Fellow.

Clayton Holtzman holds a Fellowship in Health Care Executive Leadership from Advisory Board, which they obtained from 2019 to 2021. Clayton also earned a B.S. in Public Relations & Journalism from Northern Arizona University between 1996 and 2000. Additionally, Clayton completed a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the University of Washington from 2009 to 2010. Clayton pursued Communications & Journalism studies at The University of New Mexico from 2002 to 2003. Clayton attended the Ted Scripps Leadership Institute in 2010.
