William Mindenhall has over seven years of professional experience in the engineering and software development fields. William began their career in 2014 as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at AECOM, where they utilized CAD programs to perform quality reviews and correct flawed mechanical project design files. In 2015, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer Co-Op Student at Mech, where they were responsible for creating and modifying HVAC, service piping, and fire protection designs. In 2016, they worked as a Stress Engineering Intern at SPP Canada Aircraft, Inc. (SPPCA), where they took the initiative to learn and become efficient with in house analysis software.
In 2018, Mindenhall began working as a Turbine Rotating Structures Analyst at Pratt & Whitney, where they became a resident expert for analysis in fast-paced, high-profile work. William also optimized existing company processes by adding more granularity to the analysis. In 2020, Mindenhall worked as an Intermediate Full Stack Developer at MaintainX, where they lead a small team for the implementation of the revamp of an entire high visibility module. William also dedicated time every week towards tooling, updating existing code to be relevant with new React patterns.
Also in 2020, Mindenhall attended Lighthouse Labs, where they gained large amounts of hands-on experience in refining both fundamental and advanced topics in JavaScript based programming. William also learned the importance of and extensively practiced Test Driven Development (TDD). Finally, they quickly learned React front-end framework and best practices to create clean, readable, and reusable code for well-executed apps.
William Mindenhall received a Diploma in Web Development from Lighthouse Labs in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carleton University between 2013 and 2018.
