Nick Carrad

Nick Carrad, Managing Director in the Partner Practice Group, leads MLA’s initiative in Paris. He specializes in talent acquisition and partner placements for law firms throughout EMEA and APAC.

Nick, a dual French/Australian citizen, grew up in Australasia and has lived and been schooled in both English and French in Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea and Australia. He is fluent in French and English and has conversational Bahasa Indonesia. Nick works out of MLA’s London office, travelling frequently to Paris to meet candidates and clients.

Nick has over 15 years' of experience in executive search and selection, having worked with leading Australian and Asian-based legal recruiting companies in both Sydney and Singapore. He uses his years of experience to advise firms on their London, Parisian and European growth strategies. Nick also frequently discusses Asian trends with his clients who are increasingly interested in opportunities within the South East Asian markets.

Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Nick served as managing partner at Asia Legal Recruitment, focusing on both advisory and talent acquisition for law firms (international and local), financial institutions and MNCs based in Singapore, Hong Kong, the wider South East Asian region and the Middle East.

Nick is a New South Wales qualified–lawyer. His legal career focused on dispute resolution, which he practiced in the Sydney office of a leading national firm.
