Emily also served as a Senior Editor at the Critical Frequency Podcast Network, where they were responsible for editing climate and energy-related stories. Additionally, Emily was the Founder of (de)regulation nation, a role they held from 2018 to 2019. Emily started their career as an Associate Editor at Participant Media.
Emily Gertz has an Advanced Certificate in Entrepreneurial Journalism from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, which they obtained in 2018 through the 2018 Tow-Knight Entrepreneurial Journalism Fellowship. Emily also holds a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon.
