Renee Racette is an accomplished lawyer with extensive experience in Indigenous law and governance. Currently serving as a lawyer for the Tsilhqot'in National Government since October 2019, Renee plays a vital role in conducting community and elder interviews and preparing evidence for the Tsilhqot'in Aboriginal Title case, including assisting in translations for the Court. Prior experience includes serving as Chief Executive Officer and lawyer for Malahat Nation from 2015 to 2019, and lawyer positions at the Hul'qumi'num Treaty Group (2004-2015) and Woodward & Company Lawyers LLP (2000-2004). Educational qualifications include a SJD from the University of Arizona, a JD from the University of Victoria, a Master's in Indigenous Governance from the University of Victoria, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina.
