Lawrence Choo

Lawrence Choo is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in compliance and market surveillance within the financial services sector. At Maybank since September 2019, Lawrence Choo has held multiple leadership roles, including Head of Group Financial Markets Compliance and Head of Market Surveillance. Prior to Maybank, Lawrence Choo spent a decade at Standard Chartered Bank, overseeing compliance for trade surveillance in corporate and institutional banking, with a focus on market abuse monitoring for various financial products. Lawrence Choo also held significant positions at Singapore Exchange Ltd and the Competition Commission of Singapore, as well as serving as an investigator with the Singapore Police Force. Lawrence Choo holds an LLB (Honours) degree from the University of London.
