Ed Heckel

Ed Heckel currently serves as the Director of School Safety & Security for Manalapan-Englishtown Regional Schools since July 2023. Prior to this role, Ed worked as a School Security Officer at MERS from September 2019 to August 2023. Ed's law enforcement experience includes a tenure as a Police Officer with the South Orange Police Department from May 1994 to April 2019 before retiring. Ed holds a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Monmouth University, earned between 2006 and 2009, and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Caldwell University, obtained from 1997 to 2001. Ed also attended Seton Hall University from 1987 to 1991.
