Manuel Villegas

Manuel Villegas, Jr., MD has extensive work experience in various medical organizations and hospitals. Manuel has held positions such as Head of Quality Safety and Risk Management at Manila Doctors Hospital, where they have also served as an Otolaryngologist Head and Neck Surgeon. Manuel has been the Medical Staff Association Director and Head of the Corporate and Strategic Planning Office at Manila Doctors Hospital as well. Dr. Villegas has served as the Chair of the Ethics Council at Qualimed Health Network and as the Department Chairman of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Ospital ng Muntinlupa and Qualimed San Jose del Monte. Manuel has also worked as an Otolaryngologist Head and Neck Surgeon at Asian Hospital and Medical Center. Furthermore, Dr. Villegas has served as a Strategic Management Consultant for numerous medical organizations and as a Professor of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Emilio Aguinaldo College. Manuel has also been involved in the Philippine Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery as an Associate Board Examiner and the Philippine Society for Quality in Healthcare as a Vice President and Board of Trustee. Additionally, they have played a significant role in the Philippine National Police Health Service as the Chairman of the PNP HS Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development.

Manuel Villegas, Jr., MD has a diverse education history. Manuel obtained their Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines in 1995, after completing their Bachelor of Science in Basic Medical Sciences there in 1992. Manuel further specialized in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, earning a Specialist certification from the University of the Philippines in 2000.

Aside from their medical education, Dr. Villegas pursued numerous certifications and courses to enhance their skills and expertise. Manuel completed a Certificate in Hospital Administration Short Course from the University of the Philippines in 1999 and attained a Certificate in Hospital Management focusing on Leadership and Managerial Excellence in Health Systems from Ateneo de Manila University in 2009. Furthermore, they achieved a certification as an Advanced Hospital Operations Alumni from the University of California, Davis in 2016.

Dr. Villegas also pursued several postgraduate degrees and diplomas. Manuel obtained a Master of Science in Health Systems Management from Philippine Women's University in 2013 and a Diploma in Leadership and Management from Ateneo de Manila University the same year. Moreover, they completed a Master of Hospital Administration degree from the University of the Philippines in 2022.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Dr. Villegas has acquired numerous certifications in various medical fields. Notably, they are a Fellow of the Philippine Society of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, with the fellowship earned in 2020. Manuel is also a Fellow of the Philippine College of Surgeons, the Philippine Society of Quality in Healthcare, and the Philippine Society of Oncology. Dr. Villegas is board-certified by the Philippine Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery as an Otolaryngologist Head and Neck Surgeon, and they are also board-certified in Medicine by the Philippine Board of Medicine. Additionally, they hold several prestigious fellowships and certifications from different medical institutions in the Philippines.
