David Finch

Curator of Archaeology at Manitoba Museum

David M. Finch is an experienced professional in archaeology and heritage consulting, currently serving as the Curator of Archaeology at Manitoba Museum since May 2023 and pursuing a PhD in Archaeology at Memorial University of Newfoundland since January 2020. Finch has operated as a self-employed Heritage Consultant since February 2016, working with clients such as K'atl'odeeche First Nation and the International Institute for Sustainable Development. Prior roles include Regulatory Specialist at the Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board, Cultural Places Officer for the Government of Northwest Territories, and various positions in socio-economic consulting. Finch holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Memorial University, a Professional Specialization Certificate in Collections Management from the University of Victoria, a Master of Environment Studies from Lakehead University, and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Winnipeg.
