Phil Coombs

Phil Coombs has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Phil started their career as a freelance games software developer, where they designed and developed games that were published through various companies including US Gold. From 1991 to 2013, they worked at RM Education, starting as a senior software engineer and progressing to development team leader and eventually development manager. In their role as development manager, they were responsible for managing the software integration and test groups, overseeing a team of around 40 staff and a £2m budget. Since 2013, they have been working at Videoloft, initially as a development manager and currently as the CTO.

Phil Coombs attended the University of Birmingham from 1988 to 1991, where they obtained a 2:1 (Joint Honours) degree in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering.
