Caroline Hedenberg

Interim Director of Clinical Programs at MAP Health Management

Caroline is a licensed clinical social worker and has been in practice since 2003. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and started her career working in an economically challenged public school system outside of Chicago. After moving to Austin in 2008, Caroline trained at Seton Shoal Creek Hospital, where she worked in both the inpatient social work and utilization review departments. Her experience includes providing individual therapy, group therapy and case management needs to clients with mood disorders, psychotic disorders and substance abuse. She obtained her clinical social work license through the state of Texas in 2015.

Caroline was appointed Social Work Lead at Shoal Creek in 2014 where she oversaw both the inpatient social work team and utilization review team and was responsible for addressing both the clinical and administrative needs of the two departments. As a Collaborative Care Clinician at CARMAhealth, Caroline provides individual, solution-focused therapy to individuals 18+, is a care manager for clients in the Behavioral Health Home Program and is currently working as a research coordinator for a study on an exciting technology for the treatment of opioid withdrawal. Caroline believes in providing a non-judgmental, compassionate environment for the individuals she works with.

Caroline was a presenter at the 2019 Addiction and Pain Management and Prevention Summit in Austin, TX, and a presenter at the 2019 UT School of Pharmacy’s symposium on Opioid Use Disorder: A Team-based Approach.
