Alex Shiffer has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering and aviation industries. In 2020, they began working as a Senior Software Engineer for Mapware. In 2019, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where they co-led the Connected Automated Vehicle sub-team of Embry-Riddle's EcoCAR Mobility Challenge team and researched, designed, and integrated a sensor suite for use on a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. That same year, they were a Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship - Mechanical Engineering Intern at Argonne National Laboratory. In 2018, they were a Systems Engineer Intern at Aerial Applications. In 2015, they were a Flight Student at ATP Flight School. In 2014, they were a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Tech II Inc., where they received AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD training through imagiIT Technologies and used AutoCAD with floor plan development for a new production building and Inventor to design and modify plastic food packaging parts and tooling for injection molding and thermoforming machines.
Alex Shiffer has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which they obtained in 2021. Alex also has a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which they obtained in 2019.
