Abe Pressman is the Founder in Residence at Marble since November 2023, focusing on developing deeptech solutions to address agricultural damage from climate change. Previously, Abe held a NRC Fellowship/Postdoc at the National Institute of Standards and Technology from May 2019 to May 2021, where contributions included building analysis pipelines for biochemical fitness landscapes and creating metrics for laboratory evolution. At UC Santa Barbara from December 2012 to May 2019, Abe conducted high-throughput experiments as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Chen Lab and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Additional experience includes teaching statistics to gifted students at Johns Hopkins University, conducting research at Brown University, and consulting for Universal Biomining. Abe earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a Bioengineering Emphasis from UC Santa Barbara and a B.Sc. with Honors in Applied Mathematics—Biology from Brown University.
