Thomas A. Burkhardt has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Thomas A. started their career as a Corporal and NBC Defense Specialist in the German Air Force. Following that, they worked in various marketing and brand management roles at Procter & Gamble, including as Associate Marketing Director for Global Prestige Products and Brand Manager for Western Europe. Burkhardt then joined Coty Inc. as the Vice President of Global Marketing for Calvin Klein, where they oversaw the brand's fragrance and cosmetics license. Thomas A. also served as a Board Member at the National Advertising Review Board. In 2013, Burkhardt joined the Wharton Future of Advertising Program as a Global Advisory Board Member. Thomas A. later became a member of the Accessories Council's Board of Directors. From 2016 to the present, Burkhardt has been employed at Marchon Eyewear, starting as the SVP of Global Brand Licensing & Marketing and eventually becoming the CMO & SVP of Global Brands, Marketing & Design. Additionally, Burkhardt has worked as a Strategic Advisor to the founder of Clade Apparel, a sustainable luxury fashion brand.

Thomas A. Burkhardt obtained their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Cologne. Thomas A. completed their education at the university from 1991 to 1997.
