Damien Haberlin is a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at MaREI, where investigations focus on the impact of renewable energy infrastructure on shark species using biotelemetry and BRUVs. With expertise in plankton ecology, Damien previously worked on the feasibility of offshore mussel aquaculture in Ireland. Prior experience includes roles as a Researcher PhD Student and Research Assistant at MaREI and the Coastal & Marine Research Centre, featuring projects on fish tracking and marine mammal monitoring. Earlier positions include Expedition Leader and Dive Officer at Global Vision International, General Assistant at Hydrographic Surveys Ltd, and Field Assistant at University College Cork. Damien holds an MSc in Marine Biology and a B.Sc. in Zoology and Marine Biology from University College Cork, along with a Certificate in Mechanical Engineering from Munster Technological University.
