Karin Ballard has extensive work experience in the restaurant and technology industries. Karin currently works as a Sales Manager at MarginEdge, where they help restaurants automate back-end processes and manage food costs. Previously, they worked at OpenTable as a Sr. Trainer, Sales and Restaurant Relations, contributing to the company's mission of connecting restaurants and diners through online reservations. Before that, Karin was the Director of National Sales at Mocapay, a mobile technology platform that enables merchants to enhance customer relationships through mobile marketing and payment solutions. Karin also served as a Regional Sales Manager at Fishbowl and Executive Director at the Colorado Wildlife Heritage Foundation. Earlier in their career, they held marketing roles at Rock Bottom Restaurants, Inc. and Old Chicago. Karin began their career in the restaurant industry, gaining experience in service and operations at Old Chicago Restaurants.
Karin Ballard attended New Trier from 1986 to 1990. Karin then pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree at the University of Colorado Boulder from 1990 to 1994. In 1993, they also had the opportunity to study Wildlife Biology and Conservation at the School for Field Studies in Kenya, Africa.
