Sylvia Moir currently serves as Undersheriff at Marin County Sheriff's Office, overseeing daily operations since September 2022. From November 2021, Sylvia has also been a board member of the First Responder Network Authority. Previous experience includes roles as Police Chief at Tempe Police Department and Chief of Police at City of El Cerrito, where management of municipal police services occurred in a diverse urban environment. Other positions held include Commissioner for the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training and Police Commander at City of Menlo Park. Sylvia's foundational experience spans multiple operational roles within the City of Sacramento from February 1990 to September 2008. Academically, Sylvia holds a Master’s degree in Security Studies from Naval Postgraduate School, a Master’s in Organizational Management from University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from California State University-Sacramento.
