Michele J. Griffin

Michele J. Griffin currently serves as the Managing Director at Marion P. Thomas Charter School since July 2021, previously holding the position of Director of Marketing & Development at the same institution from August 2009 to August 2019. In that role, Michele developed and implemented innovative fundraising strategies, oversaw marketing communications, created branding materials, and prepared essential proposals and reports to support fundraising efforts. With over 10 years of experience in event marketing, Michele has also worked as a freelance event marketing consultant and was the Associate Special Events Director for Essence Magazine, where significant events and promotional initiatives were developed for a large readership. Additional prior experience includes serving as Assistant to the Marketing Director at GRP Records and as a publicist at Orchid Communications. Michele holds a Master’s degree in Education, Leadership, Management & Policy from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Howard University.
