Mike Wood

Mike Wood is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in information technology management and strategic planning. Currently serving as Director of Claims IT at Markel since June 2023, Wood previously held the position of SVP of Information Technology at Slide, where responsibilities included IT strategic direction and incident response. At Capital Insurance Group, Wood advanced from AVP of Information Technology to Director of both the Enterprise Project Management Office and the Portfolio Management Office, developing technology roadmaps and managing diverse IT services. Additionally, Wood has a teaching background as a lecturer at California State University, Monterey Bay. With prior experience in various leadership roles at Next IT and service in the US Army, Wood holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Gonzaga University and an Associate of Science in Engineering from Spokane Falls Community College.
