Zoneil Maharaj has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Zoneil started their career as a Nathan Cummings Arts and Culture Journalism Fellow at WireTap Magazine in 2009. Following that, they co-founded and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the independent arts and culture webzine, Oh Dang! from 2006 to 2010.

Zoneil then joined Patch.com as an Editor for AOL/Patch Media, where they launched hyper-local news websites and managed social media communities and editorial calendars. In 2013, they received recognition for their work with a Making a Difference in the Community Award.

From 2014 to 2018, they worked at Wendoh Media, initially as an Engagement Editor and later as the Director of Digital Content, overseeing web team management and editorial strategy for various websites.

Zoneil also gained experience in social media and content marketing consulting, working with clients such as Life is Beautiful Music + Art Festival, Eventbrite, and Pernod Ricard (Bacardi) as a Freelance Writer and Social Media Consultant.

In 2018, they joined Pop-Up Magazine Productions as an Assistant Editor for Social Media, where they led the social media strategy for Pop-Up Magazine and The California Sunday Magazine.

Zoneil then served as a Social Media Officer for the City of Henderson from 2021 to 2022, creating engaging content and implementing a new social media strategy.

In 2022, they joined Corner Bar Management as the Director of Social Media & Content, overseeing social media and content for multiple venues in Las Vegas.

Finally, in 2023, Zoneil Maharaj joined Marketplace by APM as the Director of Social & Engagement, leading the social media strategy for their portfolio of broadcast programs and podcasts.

Zoneil Maharaj received their Associate of Arts (AA) degree from San Joaquin Delta College from 2001 to 2003. Following this, they attended San Francisco State University from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism.
