Pankaj Rajan

Pankaj Rajan has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Pankaj is currently the Co-Founder of Markov ML, a venture-backed startup focused on building a collaborative data intelligence platform for AI. Prior to this, Pankaj co-founded and organized the Bay Area Machine Learning Meet Up Group, which grew to become the largest machine learning meet up in the valley with about 7000 active members.

Pankaj has also held various roles at different renowned companies. At Amazon, they served as the Machine Learning Lead for Generative AI, leading a team of ML engineers to develop open-domain multi-modal conversational agents using generative AI and LLMs for Alexa. At Walmart Global Tech, they worked as a Machine Learning Architect, leading several ML initiatives for the Walmart Search Science team. Pankaj also worked as a Sr. Software Engineer at eBay, where they contributed to the design and development of an in-house machine translation engine.

Pankaj's entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Ingenus Inc., where they served as the CEO and built a multi-modal AI assistant for personalized shopping. Pankaj also played a key role in the development and launch of the product. Additionally, Pankaj has worked at Caspar.AI, Symphony AyasdiAI, Microsoft, and AMD, gaining experience in roles such as ML Architect, Team Lead, and Software Engineer.

Throughout their career, Pankaj has demonstrated strong leadership skills, successfully managing diverse teams and leading various projects. Pankaj has a proven track record in developing innovative AI solutions and contributing to the growth of companies.

Pankaj Rajan holds a Master of Science degree from Texas A&M University. Additionally, they have been affiliated with ETH Zürich, specifically the Computer Vision Lab (BiWi). Pankaj Rajan also obtained a B.Tech degree from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. Prior to this, they completed their high school education at SM Jain Higher Secondary School, earning a High School Diploma.
