Ben Phillips

Ben Phillips is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as the Senior Head of Software Engineering at Marks and Spencer since December 2022, Ben previously co-founded and held the position of CTO at Thread.com from June 2012 to December 2022, where the company utilized human stylists and machine learning to assist men in dressing well without traditional shopping. Prior to that, Ben co-founded Playfire.com, which tracked gaming activity and provided tailored recommendations, and served as Lead Developer at Tangozebra, overseeing statistical analysis for advertising campaigns. Ben's early career includes co-founding Inchima, a pioneer in online community software, and acquiring a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Southampton, complemented by participation in Y Combinator in 2012.
