Alex Carmichael

Alex Carmichael has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.

From 2018 onwards, Alex worked as a Business Intelligence Consultant and Senior Data Scientist at Marquam. In this role, they provided design expertise on PowerBI and Azure Machine Learning implementations. Alex worked with clients to build, improve, and maintain PowerBI reports and dashboards. Alex also designed, developed, and deployed data warehouses. Alex juggled multiple projects and deadlines, outlined client requirements for enterprise-wide BI solutions, and developed complex SQL, PowerQuery, and DAX queries. Alex trained others in BI tools and best practices and consulted with clients on implementing Machine Learning solutions within their businesses.

From 2017 to 2018, Alex was a Business Intelligence Analyst and App Developer IV at Salem-Keizer School District.

From 2008 to 2017, Alex served as the Director of Research (BI and Analytics) at Maps Credit Union.

At Willamette University, from 2003 to 2010, Alex worked as a Data Mining Consultant.

From 2007 to 2008, Alex was a Portfolio Analyst at U.S. Bank.

Lastly, from 2004 to 2007, Alex worked as a Portfolio Analyst at Maps Credit Union.

Alex Carmichael has a diverse education history. Alex obtained an Associate's Degree in Mathematics from Clark College in 1996. Following this, they attended Brigham Young University from 1996 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. Between 2001 and 2003, Alex pursued further education by completing a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Management Sciences and Quantitative Methods from Willamette University.
