Bill Tyler currently serves as the Director of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission's Parks and Recreation division since February 2020. Prior to this role, Bill held the position of Division Chief at the same commission from February 2013 to February 2020. Bill's extensive experience includes serving as Division Manager for the City of Las Vegas' Department of Leisure Services from 2004 to 2010 and as President and CEO of Tyler Fitness and Associates Personal Training and Fitness from 1994 to 2004. Earlier in Bill's career, Bill was the Metropolitan Area Executive Director for the Y (YMCA) from 1992 to 1993 and served as the Director of Health Promotion Services at YWCA USA from 1985 to 1992. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling Psychology and Physical Education/Recreation Management from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
