Erik Westbrook is a GIS Programmer at the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission since May 2020, responsible for updating Web Maps, layer files, and automating table production for the Montgomery Planning Division. Prior experience includes a role as a Satellite Analyst at NOAA from October 2016 to May 2020, where Erik monitored and recorded fires using satellite imagery and plotted data with ENVI software. Earlier positions include GIS Administrator SME for the NOAA RFIMS project, an intern with the Parks and People Foundation Baltimore, a Subaru Sales Associate at Fitzgerald Auto Mall, and an Environmental Consultant for Alpha EMC. Erik holds a Master's of Professional Studies in GIS from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's in Geography from the University of South Florida, along with an Associate's degree from Montgomery College.
