Michael MacFee

Director, Communications Services at Maryland Public Television

Michael MacFee has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Michael started their career as a Summer Camp Counselor and Front Desk Receptionist at 4 Seasons Sports Complex in 2007. Michael then worked as a Sales Associate at High's of Baltimore LLC from 2011 to 2013, where they provided excellent customer service and conducted inventory audits. In 2013, they interned as an Historian at the Maryland Military Historical Society, where they organized and updated personnel files, inventoried artifact collections, and guided visitor tours. In 2014, they worked as a Customer Care Specialist at Jos. A. Bank Clothiers and as a Customer Account Manager at Cowan Systems, LLC. From 2015 to 2017, they held roles as a Graduate Assistant and Student Assistant at Stevenson University. Since 2017, they have been working at Maryland Public Television, initially as a Communications Associate, then as a Grant Writer, and currently as the Director of Communications Services. Additionally, since 2017, they have also been an Adjunct Faculty member at Stevenson University, teaching Business Communication.

Michael MacFee has a strong education background in communication studies and public history. Michael earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Communication Studies from Stevenson University, graduating in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Public History with a concentration in English Language and Literature from the same university in 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Michael has also obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. These certifications include "Committing to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Faculty & Staff" from United Educators (obtained in May 2022), "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace" from University of South Florida Muma College of Business (obtained in April 2021), "Cisco Networking Basics Specialization" from Coursera (obtained in June 2019), "Google IT Support Professional Specialization" from Coursera (obtained in June 2019), "Google Digital Garage" from Google (obtained in February 2019), and "Google AdWords Search Advertising certification" from Google (obtained in July 2017).
