Ian Whalen

Ian Whalen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in program management and community engagement. Currently serving as a Program Officer for Volunteer Initiatives at Massachusetts Service Alliance since October 2023, Ian drives volunteer engagement across the Commonwealth and administers the Volunteer Generation Fund grant. Previously, Ian held key roles at Greater Boston PFLAG, including Training & Education Manager and Member Services & Engagement Manager, where responsibilities included overseeing LGBTQIA+ education programs and managing volunteer services. Ian's background also includes quality improvement coordination at Upstream USA, communications and outreach at Massachusetts General Hospital, and logistics management at QUALITY AUTO ACCESSORIES INC. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
