Rob Anderson

VP, Business Development, Central Region at MassDevelopment

Rob Anderson is currently the VP of Business Development in the Central Region for MassDevelopment. Prior to this, they worked as the Metro West Regional Director for the Massachusetts Office of Business Development from March 2012 to April 2015. In this role, they worked with 44 communities in Massachusetts to attract and retain businesses, with the goal of strengthening the Massachusetts economy. Rob was responsible for promoting the state's Economic Development Incentive Program (EDIP) to businesses interested in relocating or expanding to MetroWest, as well as presenting projects to the Economic Assistance Coordinating Council (EACC) for tax incentives. Rob also communicated the benefits of various state programs—including workforce training, financing, and permitting and regulatory reform—to chambers of commerce, economic development groups, and private sector service providers. In addition, they met with municipalities, economic development partners, and regional economic development organizations (REDOs) to coordinate efficient business recruitment and retention. Rob also served as a key MOBD representative for large-scale development projects that included non-profit and quasi-public organizations.

Rob Anderson received a BA in Archaeology and Comparative Literature from Hamilton College.
