Mike Freno

Michael Freno is the Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer of Barings LLC. He was promoted to this role in November of 2020.

Previously, he was President, Barings LLC. In this role, Mike oversaw Barings’ investments, product management, distribution, technology, operations and marketing functions. He is Chairman of both the Global High Yield Allocation Committee and the Global Investment Grade Allocation Committee, as well as a member of the Global Distressed Committee. Mike is also Chairman of the Board of Barings BDC, Inc., (NYSE: BBDC), an external business development company managed by Barings. His experience canvasses two decades on the buy-side, focusing on both equity and debt investments. Mike holds a B.A. from Furman University and an M.B.A. from Wake Forest University.
