Jessica Varevice has extensive work experience in the education field. Jessica is currently serving as the Chief Academic Officer at Mastery Charter Schools since July 2017. Prior to this role, they were the Deputy Chief of Academics at the same organization from January 2017 to June 2017. Before joining Mastery Charter Schools, Jessica worked at The New Teacher Project for several years. Jessica held various roles including Partner, Client Services from August 2011 to January 2017, Director, Philadelphia Teaching Fellows from August 2009 to September 2011, and Training and Resource Manager, Oakland Teaching Fellows from August 2007 to August 2009. Jessica's career started as an Eighth Grade English Teacher at the School District of Philadelphia from August 2005 to August 2007. Prior to that, they worked as an Administrative Assistant at UNLV Libraries from 2001 to 2005.
Jessica Varevice holds a B.S. degree in Hotel Administration and Political Science from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, obtained between 2000 and 2005. Jessica later pursued an M.S. degree in Urban Education from the University of Pennsylvania from 2005 to 2007. Most recently, they are currently enrolled in Seton Hall University, working towards an Executive Ed.D. degree in Education Leadership, Management, and Policy, which they expect to complete between 2021 and 2024. In addition to their academic pursuits, Jessica obtained a certification in Social-Behavioral-Educational from the CITI Program in August 2022.
