Justin Patterson

Justin Patterson has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Their most recent position is as the Sr. Director of Human Resources at Matanuska Electric Association, Inc., where they have been since February 2023. Prior to that, they held the role of Director of Human Resources from July 2019. Justin also worked as the Labor and Employee Relations Specialist at the same company from September 2018 to July 2019.

Before joining Matanuska Electric Association, Inc., Justin worked at Alaska Communications for a significant period of time. Justin held various positions at the company, including Sr. Manager, Labor and Workforce Development from October 1997 to August 2018. In this role, they were responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Employee and Labor Relations team, talent management, and training and development programs. Justin also worked as a Manager, Labor and Employee Relations and a Labor and Employee Relations Specialist II during their time at Alaska Communications.

Prior to their role at Alaska Communications, Justin worked at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union as an ATM Specialist from July 1996 to September 1997. Justin also has military experience, having served as an Infantry Corporal with the US Marine Corps from August 1992 to July 1996. In this role, they provided security at Camp David and Marine Barracks 8th & I. Justin was selected from less than 1% of Marine Corps for duty at Camp David.

Justin Patterson obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Management and Strategy from Western Governors University in the years 2011-2013. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the same institution between 2009 and 2011. In May 2018, Justin also obtained a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).
