Laurie Bevan

Laurie Bevan is an experienced educator currently serving as an English Second Language Instructor at Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District since July 2023. Previously, Laurie held the position of Music Professional at Butte Elementary from August 2018 to July 2023, overseeing general music, choir, band, and drama programs while directing two musicals annually with over 120 students. Prior roles include Music Teacher at Sutton Elementary, where responsibilities included teaching various subjects and coordinating extracurricular activities, and Music Teacher at Pioneer Peak. Laurie’s international experience includes teaching music at the International Community School in Bangkok, Thailand. Education credentials include a Master's in Teaching English as a Second Language from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Teacher Education from Covenant College.
