Ken Andersen

Master Science Teacher at Math for America

Ken Andersen is a dedicated science educator with extensive experience in various teaching and leadership roles, currently serving as a Science Teacher at the NYC Department of Education and MS 442 School for Innovation since June 2016. Ken holds professional certifications in General Science, Earth Science, and Special Education. Additionally, Ken is a Master Science Teacher with Math for America and a Teaching Fellow with NYC Teaching Fellows, focused on enhancing educational opportunities in high-need urban schools. As an AmeriCorps Member, Ken actively contributes to improving educational access. Ken also founded Mr. Andersen Consulting, specializing in SHSAT preparation and middle school curriculum tutoring. Prior to the education sector, Ken held significant positions in research and event management at organizations such as Gigaom, Gerson Lehrman Group, and Dow Jones & Co. Ken earned a BS in Geology & Geophysics from Yale University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education, where Ken also obtained an Advanced Certificate in Special Education.
