Prior to joining Mathers McHenry & Co. Jessica honed her skills at two well-respected boutique litigation firms focused on employment law, most recently as a member of The Colson Group at Teplitsky, Colson LLP.
Jessica graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She completed her J.D. at Queen’s University, where she volunteered with the Queen’s legal aid clinic and pro-bono student associations. During law school, Jessica also worked for the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba where she acted as a liaison for workers, employers, and health care providers.
Jessica regularly provides advice and representation to employers and employees on a wide range of employment matters, including wrongful and constructive dismissals, employment standards, employment contracts, human rights and accommodation, and general civil litigation. She has appeared before a number of courts and tribunals including the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal.
