Michael Kositsky has a diverse range of work experience in the field of computer science and engineering. Michael started their career as a Software Engineer at Central Geophysical Expedition in 1990. From 1991 to 1998, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Department of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at The Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, where they focused on pattern classification, robotic motor control, and robotic learning. In 1998, they became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Massachusetts, where they continued their research until 2001. From 2001 to 2005, they served as Research Faculty at Northwestern University, specializing in Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) using live neural tissue and a mobile robot. At Brown University, they worked as an Investigator from 2005 to 2007, concentrating on Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) using electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. Currently, they are employed as a Principal Software Engineer at The MathWorks since 2007. In this role, they are responsible for designing and developing technologies for performance-critical data streaming and compression.
Michael Kositsky earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Math from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) in 1991. Michael then went on to obtain a PhD in Computer Science from Weizmann Institute of Science from 1991 to 1998.
