Jerome Villapando

Jerome Villapando is an accomplished Electrical Engineer with a strong background in mechatronics, robotics, and automation. Currently, Jerome works at Matic, contributing to the development of autonomous robots with complete in-house ownership of hardware and software. Previous roles include prototyping engineering at NERv Technology and hardware design at Swift Labs Inc., where Jerome designed PCBs and developed firmware for communication between sensors and external devices. Experience also includes a co-op position at Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, where Jerome improved tractor-trailer communication through circuit design and automation processes. Additionally, Jerome has contributed to medical instrumentation at Nicoya Lifesciences, producing LED modules, accelerometer designs, and complex prototypes while saving costs through efficient manufacturing. Jerome holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the University of Waterloo, complemented by studies at the National University of Singapore.
