Shawming Ma has extensive work experience in the semiconductor industry. Shawming started their career at Hewlett Packard Company in 1996, where they worked as an Etch Modules and Integration Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for backend etch process modules development and integration process flow investigation. Shawming also led a team to complete various projects, including the development of metal and oxide etch modules for backend interconnect process and the development of low-k etch and post etch clean modules for low dielectric constant material integration.

After their time at Hewlett Packard, Shawming Ma joined Applied Materials in 1999. Shawming held various roles during their tenure, including Member of Technical Staff, Senior Member of Technical Staff, Senior Engineering Manager, and Technology Director. These positions allowed him to contribute to the development of advanced process technologies and manage engineering teams.

In 2010, Shawming Ma joined Maxim Integrated Products as a Technology Director. Shawming led a group of process engineers and shift technicians, as well as another group of equipment engineers and technicians. Their responsibilities included supporting fab production goals, guiding equipment engineering on tool issue troubleshooting, and reducing consumable costs.

Since 2014, Shawming Ma has been working at Mattson Technology. Shawming started as a Senior Director of Technology and later became the Associate Vice President of Technology and Deputy General Manager of the Plasma Product Group. In this role, they had divisional leadership responsibilities for both Strip and Etch Products. Shawming was responsible for establishing strategic and tactical objectives, managing divisional IP, and developing and implementing hardware, system, and process solutions.

Throughout their career, Shawming Ma has demonstrated expertise in the semiconductor industry and proven leadership abilities. Shawming has successfully managed teams and contributed to the development of advanced technologies and products.

Shawming Ma holds a Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering, with a minor in Electrical Engineering, from Stanford University, where they also obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and another Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Prior to that, Shawming earned a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from National Tsing Hua University.
