Jelena Zaitseva has worked in a variety of roles in the biochemistry and structural biology fields since 2004. Jelena began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The University of Kansas, where they investigated multidomain peptide synthetases involved in siderophore production in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In 2007, they moved on to Athenix as a Scientist, where they were responsible for the discovery of novel pesticidal proteins. From 2009 to 2018, they were employed at Bayer CropScience, initially as a Scientist, then as a Senior Scientist, and finally as a Principal Scientist, leading cross-functional international team efforts in protein structure determination and protein engineering. Since 2018, they have been employed at BASF as a Principal Scientist, managing several scientific projects and collaborations with 3rd parties and Universities and driving efforts in the exploration and validation of innovative ideas and technologies. In 2023, they began their current role as Senior Principal Scientist, Biochemistry Lead at Mazen Animal Health - Oral Vaccines.
