Johnny Nguyen

Johnny Nguyen has had a diverse range of work experience. Johnny started their career as a Shift Engineer/Process Operator at Mazza Innovation in 2018. In this role, they were responsible for operating and maintaining water tube boilers to produce steam for processing. Johnny also conducted water tests and performed daily checklists to ensure the boiler's proper functioning.

Prior to that, in 2017, Johnny worked as a Power Engineer Student at Catalyst Paper. Here, they gained hands-on experience with various equipment and systems, including fluidized bed boilers, water-tube boilers, and auxiliary equipment. Johnny also learned about lock-out procedures and confined space entry.

In the same year, Johnny worked as a Selector at Loblaw, where they operated forklifts and triple-pallet jacks in a refrigerated warehouse. Johnny followed safety procedures and was responsible for picking and shipping food products in bulk.

Before their role at Loblaw, Johnny had another opportunity at Catalyst Paper as a 4th class Power Engineer Practicum. During this time, they shadowed plant operators and gained valuable knowledge and skills in a 1st class steam plant.

From 2017, Johnny Nguyen attended Vancouver Island University where they obtained a Certificate in 4th Class Power Engineering.
