Aaron McLane has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Aaron is currently working as the Director of Information Technology at McDaniel since August 2022. Moreover, they started their career as a Technical Specialist at Explorer Software Solutions, providing software setup, support, and upgrades to oil and gas clients.

Aaron McLane attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 1998 to 2000, where they obtained a degree in Oil & Gas Land Administration. Aaron then pursued further education at SAIT from 2000 to 2002 and earned a Certificate in Computer Networking with a specialization in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications.

In addition to their academic achievements, Aaron has obtained several certifications. In 2017, they became a Special Oilwell Operator certified by ABSA, the pressure equipment safety authority. Aaron also holds certifications in H2S Alive and Standard First Aid - Level C, which were obtained in November 2017 from Enform and the St. John Ambulance Council for Federal District, respectively. Furthermore, Aaron holds a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) certification from the Project Management Institute, which they obtained in January 2018.

Most recently, in 2023, Aaron obtained certifications as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in March and as a Proofpoint Certified Insider Threat Specialist in April from Proofpoint.
