Christopher Hillsley

Christopher Hillsley is a Partner in MKC&I’s Philadelphia, PA office. Chris is an experienced civil litigator who has tried a number of cases to verdict. His practice is broad-based, including the fields of product liability, environmental and toxic torts, professional liability, general liability, construction, trucking and transportation, commercial litigation, employment claims, and general business litigation.

Product liability litigation is a major aspect of Chris’ practice. Over the last 19 years, he has represented a variety of manufacturers and distributors in cases involving industrial machinery, electrical products, plastic injection molding, and consumer products, among others. In environmental and toxic tort litigation, Chris has extensive experience handling claims of asbestos and benzene exposure, as well as health effects of products in the petroleum industry. In his toxic tort work, he is involved in cutting-edge genetic testing for markers that show pre-disposition for leukemia, a topic on which he spoke at the 2016 CLM Annual Conference in Orlando, FL. In construction litigation, Chris has defended numerous lawsuits against property owners, general contractors, subcontractors, construction managers, and equipment suppliers involving construction defects and construction site accidents resulting in personal injury, death, property damage, and business losses.

Chris serves as a Judge Pro Temp in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and as an arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Compulsory Arbitration Program.

Chris obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Widener University School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Communication from Ithaca College.
