Kathy Shady

Katherine Shady is an accomplished creative professional with extensive experience in magazine design and art direction. Currently serving as Creative Director at McGuffin Creative Group, Inc. since July 2021, Shady oversees the production of the Mayo Clinic alumni magazine, managing client relationships and developing the publication's brand and voice. Previously, Shady held the position of Design Director at Chicago Magazine from October 2015 to June 2021, directing all aspects of the magazine’s visual content. Prior roles include Art Director at The Hollywood Reporter, contributing to the transformation of the publication's format, and Graphic Artist at Variety, where Shady specialized in design and art direction. Additionally, Shady launched a lifestyle and entertainment magazine as Creative Director for MKE, Wisconsin Trails and Milwaukee Home. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a focus on Art Theory and Practice from Northwestern University.
