Kyle’s construction career started at the age of 12 in his grandfather's construction company rebuilding broken barricades and cleaning up after the mechanics for five dollars an hour. It was through this experience that he fell in love with the trade of heavy civil construction and chose to immerse himself in the family business. Kyle worked every summer, advancing from the shop and being a parts runner to laborer and operator. He learned how to handle dispatching and then promoted to doing take-off and estimating. Kyle became a member of the Laborers Union Local 304 with the vision of working through the ranks to become a foreman.
When Kyle’s brother got accepted into the Chico State Construction Management program, he chose to apply as well. After being accepted into the program, it was not long before Kyle began to excel at construction management. In 2003 he was offered an internship at McGuire and Hester followed by a job offer as a Project Engineer. Kyle’s initial vision of moving through the ranks of the industry came to fruition as he advanced to Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and in 2018 he was asked to lead and oversee the grading and paving operations for the Company.
