Louie grew up in San Diego where his parents settled after retiring from the military. After graduating college, he moved to the Bay Area and worked for a CPA firm that specialized in the construction industry.
McGuire and Hester was the first engagement Louie was assigned to. He prepared the company's financial statements and tax return for six years when he decided to join McGuire and Hester's management team as the Controller. Louie was in charge of the day to day operations of the accounting department, preparing monthly financial reports and handling all accounting policies and procedures.
In 2003, he was instrumental in implementing the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. In 2017, Louie was promoted to Chief Financial Officer of Harbor Linx, Inc. He has been an integral member of the ESOP and the 401k trustees. He continually stays current with issues and regulations affecting both retirement plans.
Louie and his family have raised several puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind. People ask him if it's hard to give up a puppy you spent so much time raising. He says sending the pups back to Guide Dogs is like sending your children to college. If they do well, they go on to have a rewarding life. If they don't pass the tests, they come back home and live with you forever.
