Daniel Weber

Daniel is a creative strategist and an effective communicator. His diligent research and sound legal arguments give his clients an edge at the negotiation table or in the courtroom.

Daniel provides strategic legal advice and representation in the areas of labour and employment, general litigation, and procurement. He is particularly skilled in advising clients concerning wrongful dismissal, human rights, and labour relations matters.

When devising legal strategy, Daniel calls upon his experience working as in-house counsel with a large employer. In this capacity, he acted as lead counsel on non-bargaining unit human resource matters, which involved drafting agreements and providing termination, discipline, compensation, job classification, and benefits advice. Daniel also provided procurement advice, acting as lead counsel on various procurements, including a $26,000,000 health service procurement.

A courtroom veteran, Daniel helps clients resolve complex litigation matters and business disputes with confidence and skill. He has represented clients in trials before the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and the Provincial Court of Alberta. He has also appeared before a multitude of administrative bodies, including arbitration panels and the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board, Alberta Labour Relations Board, Workers’ Compensation Board, Dispute Resolution Decision Review Body, Appeals Commission, Alberta Human Rights Commission, Employment Standards Program Delivery, and the Social Security Tribunal of Canada.

Daniel's broad in-house experience coupled with his extensive litigation background makes him well-suited to lead litigation and advise on an array of labour and employment matters as well as independent contractor agreements, procurement solicitation documents, and human resource policies.
