Marguerite McCarthy

Workshop Instructor at McNay Art Museum

Marguerite McCarthy is a dedicated visual arts educator with extensive experience spanning several decades. Currently serving as a Visual Arts Teacher at The Montessori School of San Antonio since August 2018, Marguerite designs and implements curriculum that meets and exceeds national and state standards for students aged 6 to 14. Additionally, Marguerite has been a Workshop Instructor at The McNay Art Museum and the San Antonio Museum of Art, where workshops and studio courses have been developed for teachers and students. Previous roles include teaching visual art at St. John Paul II Catholic High School and serving as an Art Educator for the North East Independent School District. Marguerite's artistic contributions also include work as a professional artist and commissions under self-employment. Educational qualifications include a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Louisiana State University.
