Mohamed Yatim has a wealth of work experience in the medical device industry. Mohamed began their career in 2011 as a Research Assistant Intern at UMass Medical School, working under the supervision of Dr. Jack Leonard in the Microbiology and Physiological Systems Department. In 2012, they became a Biomedical Engineer Intern at Cephos Corporation, working under the supervision of Dr. Steven Laken to design and create a prototype of an antimicrobial device for commercial toilets. In 2013, they worked as an Accountant Administrator for Yatco, a Manufacturing Technician for Karl Storz Endovision, and a Research Technician for UMass Medical School, working under the supervision of Dr. Karl Simin in the Cancer Biology Department. In 2014, they worked as a Quality Assurance Medical Device Failure Investigator (Contractor) at Stryker and a Senior Design Assurance Engineer and Design Quality Engineer II at Boston Scientific. In 2020, they became the Co-Founder of MDRisks, and in 2021 they became the Lead Design Assurance Engineer at Hologic, Inc.
Mohamed Yatim completed a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2013. Mohamed had previously earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the same institution in 2012. In 2014, they obtained a Quality System Requirements and Industry Practice certification from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). In 2015, they obtained a Quality Management System Internal Auditor (ISO 9001:2008) with Emphasis on Medical Devices (ISO 13485:2003) certification from Exemplar Global, Inc.
