Jan Krüger

Jan Krüger has worked in a variety of roles since 1999. Jan started their career as a Technology Engineer at HL Planartechnik GmbH (Measurement Specialities, Inc.) in 1999. In 2000, they moved to Tyndall National Institute as a Research Engineer, where they led research activities for micro-fabrication of lab-on-a-chips for DNA and cell counting applications. In 2003, they joined Biosensia as a Senior Product Development Engineer and Head of Engineering, where they were responsible for leading the company's design, prototyping and micro-fluidics R&D activities and was an inventor of the company's proprietary assay cartridge and patented microfluidics biochips for forensic and diagnostic applications. In 2010, Jan founded PingRay Ltd, a technology start-up company, where they developed wearable underwater location and communication systems. From 2013 to 2020, they worked as an R&D Project Manager at Tyndall National Institute, managing and coordinating industry R&D programs. Currently, Jan is working as a Freelance Consultant.

Jan Krüger began their education in 1994 at Technische Universität Ilmenau, where they completed an MSc in Precision Engineering in 1999. In 2005, they started a MSc Programme in Technology Management at University College Cork, which they completed in 2007. In 2011, they attended the New Frontier - Entrepreneur Business Development Programme at Munster Technological University, which they completed in 2012. In 2017, they enrolled in the Lean Six Sigma course at MSI - Management and Strategy Institute, and also obtained an ISO 13485:2016 Medical Device Regulations Standards certification from University College Cork.
