Josh Friedlander

Josh Friedlander has extensive experience in the field of data science and analytics. Josh is currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at MedOrion since September 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Data Scientist/Machine Learning Engineer at KANDO from February 2020 to August 2021.

Before joining KANDO, Josh worked as a Data Scientist at Perceptive AI, a seed-stage startup, from November 2018 to January 2020. At Perceptive AI, they focused on implementing a Survival Analysis algorithm to predict churn in the field of Customer Success for SaaS enterprise software. Josh also engaged in feature engineering, data processing, and analyzing data using tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, and Jupyter notebooks. Josh was also responsible for creating bash and perl scripts to automate repetitive tasks. Additionally, they worked on AWS Linux VMs and utilized remote deployment to securely access data. Josh actively optimized code performance and removed bottlenecks.

Prior to joining Perceptive AI, Josh gained valuable experience as a Data Science Intern at Anodot in August and September 2018. During this internship, they developed a pipeline and methodology for verifying time series predictions. Josh also built LSTM models for time series analysis and compared the results with other state-of-the-art methods. Josh worked within a production code infrastructure, emphasizing modular and readable code.

Josh kick-started their career as a Data Science Fellow at Israel Tech Challenge (ITC) from April to August 2018. ITC is an elite ten-month Data Science program focused on STEM graduates. During this program, they gained proficiency in various machine learning techniques, including Python DS stack (Scikit-Learn, Numpy, Pandas, Scipy, Jupyter), data collection and storage, data transformation, supervised and unsupervised learning, ensemble techniques, and data visualization. Josh also gained expertise in deep learning using TensorFlow and Keras, as well as time-series analysis and production-related skills like Flask, Docker, and AWS server deployment.

Before entering the field of data science, Josh worked as an Analyst at Positive Mobile from May 2016 to December 2017, where they likely utilized analytical skills to analyze data and provide insights. Josh also served as an Economic Researcher at Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories from November 2013 to April 2016, where they likely conducted economic research and analysis.
